A Lincoln Heritage Public Library Card is free to residents and property owners of Spencer County. It grants access to all materials and services, including public computers and digital resources. Renewing Bi-Annually is FREE. Replacement cards are $2.00. Download our mobile app (Lincoln Heritage PL), and you never need to carry your card. Your digital card can be found in the app and can be use at checkout.
To receive your card, you can submit an online application, print out a physical copy at your convenience to fill out and return, or visit the Dale or Chrisney Branch to fill out a form at the library. Don't forget to bring proof of your current address and a valid photo identification. A parent or guardian signature is required for teens and children under 18.
Submitting an Application Online
Once your online application is submitted a staff member will review your information, then ask you to visit the library to confirm proof of address and present a valid photo ID. Once this process if complete, you will receive your library card.

Issued to patrons with valid resident library cards from a reciprocal Indiana Library, not in the Evergreen Library System. Warrick, Dubois, and Willard Library cardholders in good standing may Spencer County. Renew: Annually.
Available to Indiana residents who have a library card in good standing from their hometown library. Public Library Access Cards allow individuals to borrow materials from any Indiana Public Library. Renew: Annually, $70.
Available to those who do not live in Northern Spencer County or a qualifying reciprocal library district, Non-Resident Cards provide access to all physical collections, digital services, public computers, and online databases. Renew: $60 annually.
To obtain a Teacher Card, an individual must have a valid Library card in good standing with LHPL. Teachers living outside the LHPL area may obtain a reciprocal card even if they do not live in a district that has a reciprocal agreement with us. Teachers may check out collections of no more than 150 items. To receive a Teacher Card, please print it, fill it out, and bring it to the library.
